Prof. Sudhir Kumar

Field of specialization: Condensed Matter Theory
Prof. Sudhir Kumar received his Ph.D. degree from Allahabad University in 1992. He was DAAD
postdoctoral fellow at University des Saarland (Germany) Saarbrucken. He has been recipient
of several prestigious fellowship link INSA Visiting Scientist (University of Roorkee); DAAD revisit fellowship
(Technical University Ilmenau (Germany); INSA-DFG visiting Scientist fellowship (OVG Magdeburg (Germany),
Visiting scientist, Reading University (UK-not availed). Prof Kumar research spread around simulation of
materials useful for renewable energy, two dimensional (2D) anode materials for rechargeable batteries, 2D
Heterojunction, 2D nano sensors for detection of poisonous gases and defects induced electronic, optical and
thermodynamical properties of bulk materials. He has guided 05 Ph.D. students. Published 40+ research papers
in highly reputed international research journals include Physical Review B, Journal of Applied Physics, Journal
of Physics C and D, Elsevier, Royal Society of Chemistry etc. His research work is majorly funded by SERB, DRDO,
UGC etc.
